Popis

Tanečnice (německy Tanzplan) je hřbet o nadmořské výšce 599 m zasahující na území severočeského města Mikulášovice a částečně saského města Sebnitz. Náleží ke Šluknovské pahorkatině, kde je druhým nejvyšším vrcholem. Vrcholová část je zaoblená až plochá a povětšinou příkré svahy jsou pokryté četnými kamennými moři a dalšími tvary zvětrávání. Geologické podloží tvoří jemně až středně zrnitý lužický granodiorit s žílami doleritu. Převládajícím půdním typem je kambizem. Na Tanečnici pramenící vodní toky náleží k povodí Labe a úmoří Severního moře. Roční srážky mohou přesahovat 900 mm, průměrná roční teplota je odhadována pod 6 °C. Většinu povrchu pokrývají nepůvodní smrkové monokultury. Ostrůvkovitě se dochovaly původní acidofilní bučiny a podél vodních toků také údolní jasanovo-olšové luhy. Faunu představují typické druhy krajiny opadavých listnatých lesů, z chráněných živočichů se vyskytuje především několik druhů netopýrů. Česká část Tanečnice náleží k chráněné krajinné oblasti Labské pískovce, na německé straně se nacházejí přírodní rezervace Heilige Hallen a Gimpelfang.
